"Thank You, Mr. Falker" by Patricia Polacco is one of my favorite books to read aloud. This worksheet is designed to coincide with the story; I find it especially helpful for second to third grade opinion writing. It is also a great resource if you are talking about bullying in your classroom, or acceptance of diversity. I also had my students write a letter in their journals to a "noteworthy person" from the story, and their letters were absolutely fabulous! Incredibly insightful and I could see the comprehension and writing progress they have made. This added and extra half hour or so to the lesson. I hope you enjoy!
