Helping children feel the true spirit of Thanksgiving is critical. Reaching beyond their own self-centered interests and reflecting on what they are truly thankful for brings blessings in itself.
Begin by brainstorming things the children are thankful for and writing the list on the board.
Make your turkey ahead of time and model how to assemble their "Thankful Turkey".
Duplicate the pieces on white construction paper. Make multiple copies of the feathers. Children write on the feathers, then color, cut out the pieces, and glue the turkey together. Turkeys can be displayed on a "We Are Thankful" board. Have fun!
