This Thankful Tree is a great craftivity to use during the month of November. It helps instill a thankful spirit throughout the month.
The Thankful Tree in this resource is for each individual student to create a family keepsake. Each day throughout the month of November, have students write one to two things they are thankful for. Add one idea per leaf and glue it to the tree. Send home the trees before the Thanksgiving holiday for families to enjoy at home.
Before writing on the leaves, brainstorm a list of ideas with students of things they are thankful for. Create an anchor chart to use and add to throughout the month. Or create a tree cut out to display on a large bulletin board and cut out construction paper leaves.
• Two different tree trunks (with and without words)
• Two cutting options (for younger or older students)
• A variety of leaf sizes
• Suggestions for an anchor chart
• Suggestions for Thankful Ideas.
