Inferencing and Citing Evidence practice pack
The CCSS standards state that 4th, 5th and 6th graders need to refer to details and examples in a text when drawing inferences from the text. This is a tough skill for students to master, so I created "Thankful for Clues," to give my students practice with making inferences and citing the clues from the text that led to the inferences.
This pack is designed to be used with just right independent reading books. You can use it with your whole class, guided reading groups, or enrichment for early finishers, or more. The pack will keep your kids reading with purpose and accountability during independent reading time, as well as practicing inferring and citing evidence.
Students will practice inferring:
* character traits
* character motivation
* character change
"Thankful for Clues" will make conferring easy as you move from student to student and talk with them about the inferences and evidence they are recording in their pack.
