Thankfulness and Gratitude Critical Thinking Activity Sheet
This worksheet activity helps students reflect on actionable giving and their inner feelings through writing. The questions are organized to bring forth experiences they’ve had where they felt thankful and were supportive to others (and by others.) Additionally, this sheet will help them consider the good in life and what they can do with their best selves to spread health, wealth, and happiness.
Students will fill in the blanks to several questions covering: 1) things and people they are thankful for, 2) experiences they’ve had where they or someone else made things better, 3) what it means to live ‘a good life,’ and 4) something they could give to improve someone else’s quality of life.
This worksheet could be used for a single lesson or act as a prompt for a several page essay or class presentation. It can be used all year long, but it would be perfect as a Thanksgiving, Easter, or Christmas lesson. Good for a low-key classroom discussion as well if students need help brainstorming.
Encourage deeper thinking and true gratitude. Ask students to discriminate between wants and needs for the first and last parts of the worksheet. Consider talking about the difference between receiving gifts, giving quality time, offering positive words, and doing acts of service. It will clue them in on how they feel best about giving to others and in what ways they themselves feel most loved.
Allows teachers to get to know their students better.
Sheet is in black and white, printer friendly.
