This packet will help you guide your students through a research project on the First Thanksgiving. Reading comprehension will be applied as students write about what they have learned about the first Thanksgiving. This can be done in class or as homework. It can be assigned as group work or independent. Research through reading of informational (non-fiction) text addresses common core Reading Informational Text standards. Presentations of projects will help fulfill common core speaking and listening standards.
The first page has the topics and a visual aid idea that would be optional as they aren’t included but they are
easy to find on pinterest. The topics can be assigned or
chosen by students.
This is possibly your students first research project and
hopefully this resource provides enough support to make
it a fun experience on a worthy topic.
