Description
This Thanksgiving activity will be perfect for your pocket chart center, whole group, and small group instruction. This is very low prep and will be great for students working on color identification and reading color words. Your kindergarten and first grade students will love the adorable and colorful turkeys, as well as matching the pictures to the correct color words or sentences.

*Turkey Picture cards (red, blue, yellow, green, black, white, pink, purple, orange, brown, and gray.)
*Color Word Cards
*Color Sentence Cards ( "This turkey is _____, " )
*Bonus: Color Gameboard and Spinner
Pocket Charts make for an engaging literacy center, as well as a wonderful, shared reading experience. This was always a popular center in my classroom and intervention class.
To Play:
Place all cards in a basket near your pocket chart center. Students can place the turkey picture cards in the pocket chart and then match either the color word cards or the matching sentence to the picture card. As a bonus, I have included a game board and matching spinner with color words on it. Students spin the spinner and simply move their pawn to the first turkey with the same color. It is a perfect companion to the pocket chart.
