Help your kids learn and recognize Thanksgiving facts and trivia.
If you love the typical I Have Who Has games that are commonly used in the classroom, this activity works the same way.
I have labeled this activity for grades 3-5, but please read the description and decide if you think it may be suitable for a grade other than those.
For example, the first person would say, "I have the first card. Who has the year the Pilgrims landed in North America?.......
You will know you have used all of the cards when the last person says, "Who has the first card?"
There are 28 cards. If you don't have 28 kids in your class, you will want to give some kids more than one card, as you need to use them all for it to work.
I understand that some classes may have more than 28 kids, so please be aware that there are only 28 cards.
The purpose of this game is for kids to practice reading aloud, being ready when it's their turn, and to learn facts about Thanksgiving. I would suggest having an extra set of cards and displaying them on the overhead after a child identifies themselves and reads their answer. This way all kids are exposed to all 28 cards which will reinforce the facts.
The facts range from the First Thanksgiving all the way to today's trivia like referring to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
