Thanksgiving Articulation ~ Look Out for the Chef!

See who can collect the most turkey cards to keep the turkeys safe from Thanksgiving Dinner!

**37 total pages of articulation words! Articulation practice for: /s, s blends, l, l blends, r, r blends, sh, ch, j, k, g, p, b, m, n, t, d, f, v, th/. Initial and Final positions of words included (except for blends). I did NOT include any medial positions! NOTE: I have ONLY included printed words for articulation practice. Pictures of the practice words are NOT included.

**Homework Letters to Parents: You choose which game/letter to send home! (B/W & Color copies included)
**1 sheet of black/white turkey cards, 1 sheet of color turkey cards

**1 sheet of additional Bonus Game Cards

Assembly Directions: Make the lesson with the student during the speech session. Print enough of the turkey cards and the desired articulation words. Cut apart the cards and words ahead of time. The student can glue the words to the BACK side of the turkey cards as they say the word as practice. Do NOT glue the words to the front side of the turkey cards! This way, you can put the cards turkey-side up so that you can play games, such as ‘pick from a pile’ or memory. If you plan to play Memory, remember to print a double set of the words and turkey cards. **If you do not want to make the lesson during the session, pre-make everything you need. You can also make and keep a copy for yourself. I suggest laminating the cards if the game is for yourself. If it is your teacher copy, you do not need the parent letter; but, you could use it to store the cards if desired.
Homework letters to parents are included! Simply select the game you want, print the page, fold it in half, and use a glue stick to glue the sides (NOT the top) together. You could also tape or staple the sides together. The bottom is already sealed by the fold. The top remains open. This will create a pocket for you to put the practice cards in. The instructions will now be on the front of your pocket and the practice words fit nicely inside! Make sure to circle or highlight if the child should say the word 1x, 2x, 3x, or use it in a sentence. If you do NOT want the adult to model the word first, simply cross off that direction.

How to Play the Game:
1) Pick from a Pile: Place all of the cards turkey-side up in a pile. Take turns picking a card. The adult can model the word for the child if needed. If you pick a “Happy Thanksgiving ~ Go Again!”, take another turn! If you pick “Hide from the Chef ~ Put 1 card back”, the person whose turn it is must place one of their articulation cards back. Do not put the Chef card back...the game would keep going!

2) Memory: Place all cards turkey-side up in rows (make sure you have doubles of each). Take turns picking cards/looking for matches. Say each word that you turn over. If you pick a “Happy Thanksgiving ~ Go Again!”, take another turn! If you pick “Hide from the Chef ~ Put 1 card back”, give one of your matches to another player. If you do not have any matches yet, nothing happens, but your turn is over. **You can also use the other bonus game cards that I provided on the Bonus Game Cards Page...choose: Hide from the Chef—Give One Pair to Another Player AND the WILD Card (instant match to any card).
