Thanksgiving is a fun time of year. Most students anxiously await traveling to spend the holiday with out-of-town family members or having a huge feast at home. They look forward to the sweet smells from the kitchen and the chance to enjoy turkey or fresh ham. Since your students have Thanksgiving on their minds, why not use it to your advantage? Let your kids rotate through these five center activities.
How long will it take to rotate through the centers? That depends on your students. You know them best. Before beginning these activities, decide how long you want your students to spend at each center.
? Set up 5 centers at the beginning of the week and have students rotate through 1 center each day. (This is the option I chose because it allowed my students to look forward to the Thanksgiving centers every day leading up to Thanksgiving.)
? Take two days to complete the centers: Have students rotate through 2 centers one day (because it will take time to explain the centers) and then 3 the next day.
Here's what you get:
p. 2= Introduction/Suggestions
pp.3-21= Centers 1-5 (Directions, handouts, etc.)
p. 22= Rubric
p. 23= Acknowledgments
I hope your students love these center activities. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
