Students will decide what to cook for their Thanksgiving Dinner, using some of the best dishes during thanksgiving time. They will have the choice of one dish, three sides, stuffing, bread, and dessert. OVER 100 multiplying and dividing Fractions / Mixed Numbers!! Each recipe contains a certain amount of ingredients and serving size. Each student will divide each ingredient by the serving size to find they were the only one at Thanksgiving Dinner. How much ingredients would they need? Students will continue this for each dish that they plan to have at their dinner. Then students draw a number out of hat (between 50-200), to decide how many people will be attending dinner. Students will then multiply that number by each ingredient, ending up with the total amount they will need to fix thanksgiving dinner. Students enjoy this project because they get a choice in what they want at Thanksgiving Dinner, and it beats giving them a quiz or more homework.
