This game was made to practice the alphabet and have a little Thanksgiving fun.
To play the game, give each child a dinner plate and place all of the food cards on the table upside down. Have the children take turns picking food cards. Have them say the letter on the card. To make it harder you can have them say the sound of the letter or a word that starts with the letter. Have the child place the food card on the matching food item on their dinner plate. Then it is the next child’s turn. When it is that child’s turn again if they get a food card that they don’t have yet they can put it on their plate, if they already have it, they still have to say the letter, but they have to put the card back. The first child to get all six items on their dinner plate wins.
In the blank cards at the end, you can put repeat letters that your child is struggling with or put your child’s name to practice. Or you can put lose a turn or draw an extra card to mix it up.
