Looking for a fun math activity for your students prior to Thanksgiving Break? This real-life situation will get them excited and have them engaged in multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction skills. Students will plan Thanksgiving dinner for their friends and family, including making a guest list, planning a menu, "buying" groceries, and even using coupons! Everything needed for the activity comes in a single download. This activity is also easy to differentiate for your students. They will be perfectly content to complete the first four steps of the project, but could complete up to seven steps for an additional challenge. An opportunity to reflect on the project is included, as well. I created this activity for my third graders, but it would also work for 2nd, 4th, and even 5th graders. Your students will have a blast planning their own Thanksgiving dinner with this activity!
