This emergent reader can be used in either guided reading groups for whole group instruction. Introduce your children to the sight words “do” and “it” with this emergent reader that has a repetitive text all about Thanksgiving dinner. Have your students read and recognize sight words in the book, practice writing them, and locating them in sentences. Also included are follow-up activities where students can demonstrate their ability to read and recognize the sight words “it”, and “do”, as well as working with alliteration and syllabication. This book and follow up is in alignment with the Common Core Learning Standards; RFK1, RFK3 and RFK4.
