Gobble, Gobble, Verbs!
Cut the cards apart, glue each card on a flashcard or construction paper square. Use these verb cards for a variety of games, here are some ideas:
--Go Fish: Take turns asking for a card. Use each verb in a sentence and/or change the verbs to past tense. You can also use a sentence instead, “Drove. She drove to the store”.
--Memory/Matching: Change the verbs to past tense/use in a sentence as they are turned over. To get a match, match the PICTURES (there are 2 of each clipart/picture)
--Pick A Card/Bag game. To play the bag game, put all cards in a bag. Take turns pulling a card out. Change the verb on the card to past tense and use it in a sentence. You can also encourage the student to attempt to think of a Thanksgiving-themed sentence with the verb, ex: “My family DROVE to my grandma’s house to eat a Thanksgiving feast.”

Is/Are and Has/Have Worksheets: 1 page of is/are, 1 page of has/have. Students read the sentences and circle the correct verb.

Gobble, Gobble Grammar!
Directions: Cut apart the cards (and laminate if desired). Put all cards in a bag. Students take turns
picking a card from a bag and must pick the correct word to complete the sentence. If you pick the cooked turkey, you must put a card back (do not put the cooked turkey back, the game will keep going). If you pick a Happy Thanksgiving card, go again! The winner is the person who has the most turkey cards at the end! You can NOT count the cooked turkey cards in your total! The winner saves their turkeys from Thanksgiving Dinner!
