This product contains one simple science experiment that can be done independently by third and fourth graders. I have done this activity with second graders, but with teacher guidance. The cranberry facts sheet may be too difficult to read for early second graders.
Materials needed are: cranberries, plastic knifes, paper cups, water and the worksheets I’ve provided.
I’ve also included three Thanksgiving or cranberry themed worksheets which can be used as morning work for the 3 days before Thanksgiving, if you wish. One of the morning papers is a logic puzzle. Just in case your students are unfamiliar with logic puzzles, I’ve included an extra one, which is not Thanksgiving themed, for you to do as a whole group lesson to introduce this type of puzzle. (This extra one is one of the five puzzles in my 5 Logic Puzzles for Beginners set.)
