These journals are for students to fill out each day during the month of November. Each day, students write/draw about something they are thankful for. Teachers are encouraged to participate as well! My students fill out their journal either during morning work or at the end of the day as a "wrap up." Don't forget to let students share!
There is also a "Thankful Turkey" pattern that teachers can make to visit the classroom during the month of November. He is similiar to the "Elf on the Shelf" idea. "Thankful Turkey" watches to see if students are using their manners and being thankful. When students are "caught" by "Thankful Turkey," they will get a sticker on their incentive chart. At the end of the month, if students have most or all of their chart filled out, they will be award with a "Caught Being Thankful" certificate. I made this because my students are having a lot of trouble using their manners and being thankful/grateful.
