Thanksgiving is a joyous time of year. Families gather together, traditional dishes are cooked and baked, and people reflect on how lucky they are and give thanks. It's a wonderful theme to explore across the curriculum!
In this thematic packet, students will explore multiple subject areas:
(estimation, circumference, mileage)
(exploring pumpkins, the parts of a plant, and the parts of a pumpkin)
Reading / Writing
(Sponge painting, and several art projects designed to help students reflect on the things for which they are thankful)
(reading an atlas, using a map scale, identifying mileage and locating places on a map)
(3 easy to make Thanksgiving themed recipes)
In addition, students will enjoy the four Thanksgiving Puzzlers (including a crossword, a word find, a word jumble and a math jumble).
Celebrating Thanksgiving in the classroom can be both a fun and educational! Your third through fifth graders will be sure to enjoy these activities!
