Thanksgiving Book: Use this book to talk about Thanksgiving. Read the book through with your students. Talk about the vocabulary words and actions in the story. Highlight the sequence of preparing and cooking dinner, then eating and cleaning up. Talk with your students about their experiences. Read the book a second time and leave out words to have your students fill in the blank. Non verbal students can point to pictures in the book. AAC users can use their voice output device. Ask WH questions relating to the book. Pages 3-13.
Social Expectations: Use these two pages (14-15) to determine the appropriate behavior during Thanksgiving dinner.
