Description
This Thanksgiving math activity is perfect for in school and digital learning! Students can walk around the classroom and ask their peers to their "Thanksgiving dinner" and take their orders using the menu provided. 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will have a BLAST being able to get out of their seat and collaborate and problem solve together while trying to stay within their $75 budget! A digital copy is also available by forcing a copy to your Google Drive. After a copy is made, simply assign to your students through Google Classroom! This is a GREAT print and GO activity that is perfect the week before Thanksgiving break. My students and I have done this activity every year I've been teaching! I promise it will be a HIT!

Here you will find:
•Thanksgiving Menu in color and black and white
•Recording sheet for students to fill out orders
•Six multi-step word problems to solve using the Thanksgiving menu.
•A Google Slide of the menu, recording sheet and word problems to use during remote learning.
Objective: 4.OA.3- Solve multistep word problems that involve addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and interpret remainders.
*Practice and improve on calculator skills.
How to use
•Pass out the recording sheet and menu to all students. Allow students to walk around the room and “invite” their classmates to their dinner and take their order. Make sure to tell the students they they must stay within their budget!
•Let students use calculators to allow for quick computations and for great calculator practice!
•Make sure to teach/remind your students to include the decimal when using a calculator!
•Use the Google Slide™ to assign this activity through your Google Classroom™. Students can ask their family to their “thanksgiving dinner” or they can make up people’s dinner choices!
•Assign multi-step word problems to early finishers or for homework!
