This pack is so much more than just a turkey glyph! It focuses on graphing, reading comprehension, story structure (characters, setting, plot), sentence writing and vocabulary development. I have created activities to coordinate with three children’s literature books about Thanksgiving: A Plump and Perky Turkey by Teresa Bateman, The Amazing Turkey Rescue by Steve Metzger, and Thanksgiving is Here! by Diane Goode.
You'll receive patterns and instructions for creating an adorable turkey glyph, complete with real feathers! A Glyph Legend is included, along with three different versions of graphs with sections for data collection (tally marks). In addition to the fun turkey glyph craft and its complementing math activities, you'll receive reading response pages, which coordinate with each of the three books listed above. There is even a vocabulary development card game with challenging vocabulary words that have been pulled from the texts!
This pack was created to use with my second graders, but it could be adjusted for third graders.
