My class loves poke activities....and I love not having work to mark! Poke cards are self checking and can be used at anytime during the math workshop. This product includes 16 mixed review math questions on poke cards.
Be sure to download the free preview above to see a sample of the cards. You'll notice that I've included colorful cards as well as ink saving cards. The cards look great in color, but are very easy to read in grayscale as well.
Skills Reviewed in this Activity:
- Place value of whole numbers and decimals
- Extended form decimals)
- Comparing decimals
- Standard form (decimals)
- exponents (cubed)
-adding and subtracting decimals
- distributive property of multiplication
- multiplying 2 digits by 2 digits
Keep in mind that this is meant to be a brief activity, so there are only one or two cards dedicated to each skill listed. Students in my class work in partnerships and discussed their answers before selecting their answers.
I've also included blank cards for your students to create their own poke cards. My students are still working on their poke cards which they will share with their table mates for finished early work. We created a list of skills to review and students had fun writing their own questions for the skills.
The packet includes an answer key for the teacher to mark the answers on the back of the cards. I've also included a student recording sheet for students who might need to be held accountable for their independent work.
