Kindergarten Version: Thanksgiving Math and Literacy Centers {Kindergarten}

10 Centers Included:

Thanksgiving Number Patterns

Children will select a card that contains numbers in a pattern. They finish the number pattern on the recording sheet. Number patterns are by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, 10’s and 100’s.

Turkey Time

Children choose a time card (some are digital times, some written in words), then use a dry-erase marker to write the time on the clock. They draw the hands on the clock with a dry-erase marker (or make the hands with play dough). A recording sheet is included.

Turkey’s Pie Fractions

Students assemble mixed up the puzzle pieces of a fraction, pie picture, and word fraction.

Turkey Number Spinners

Children spin for a number and write the numbers in the frame on the recording sheet. Then, they arrange the numbers from least to greatest.

Owl Number Clip Cards (Numbers in the hundreds):

Children read the number word and clip the correct number with a clothespin peg.

Digraph Ships:

Children sort the pilgrim digraph word cards on the correct digraph ship, then record them on the recording sheet.

Rhyming Pumpkin Puzzles:

Children match the pumpkin based on rhyming word and write the words on the recording sheet.

Synonym and Antonym Turkeys:

Students read the words on the feathers and match the synonym feathers to the synonym turkey and the antonym feathers to the antonym turkey.

Sentence Write and Wipe Cards:

Students look at the turkey’s sign to see if they need to add quotation marks, ending punctuation, or commas to the sentences. Then, they write in the punctuation in the correct places using a dry-erase marker.

“oo” Words Sorting Mats:

Students look at the picture or word, pronounce the words and sort them by “oo” sound.
