The Thanksgiving Mega Pack is a combination of my other three Thanksgiving Packs (the Thanksgiving Language Arts Pack, Thanksgiving Math Pack, and Thanksgiving Fun Pack), and is offered for a price discount of $4.99. It has activities to supplement your reading, writing, math, and fun time activities around the Thanksgiving holiday. It is 52 pages long and includes the following activities:
Pages 1-4: Intro & Explanation Pages
Page 5: Thanksgiving Then & Now Page. Students compare & contrast what the Pilgrims were thankful for in the past with what they are thankful for today.
Page 6: Thanksgiving Madlib Story. Students come up with silly nouns and verbs to fill in the blanks, creating a humorous retelling of the original Thanksgiving story.
Page 7: “A Thanksgiving Tale” Story Template. Students cut out and color pictures of their choice to go along with a story that they write about Thanksgiving.
Pages 8 & 9: Thanksgiving Word Search. Students search for common Thanksgiving words. (Page 7 is the answer key.)
Page 10: Sounds of Thanksgiving. Students must listen for the missing sounds in Thanksgiving words to discover what letter goes in the empty circles.
Page 11: ABC Order Turkeys. Students cut out the turkeys and glue them back onto the page in correct ABC order.
Page 12: Thanksgiving Words. Students see how many words they can find using the letters in the words “Happy Thanksgiving.” This can be a solo or partner activity.
Pages 13-14: Color by Number Turkey Page. Students must solve simple addition or subtraction problems before they can color the picture the correct colors.
Pages 15-16: Even & Odd Pilgrim Maze. Students color in the even numbers to make a path to the Thanksgiving dinner. (Page 6 is the answer key.)
Pages 17-18: Sorting Food from Least to Greatest. Students help sort food for the Thanksgiving feast by putting it in order from least to greatest. (Page 8 is the answer key.)
Pages 19 & 20: Favorite pie tally and graphing. Students vote on their favorite kind of pie and then tally & graph the class results.
Page 21: Turkey Feather Count. Students count the feathers on each turkey and then record their findings by writing the numeral, the number word, and the tally marks.
Pages 22-25: Thanksgiving Coloring Pages. Cute Thanksgiving pages that can be colored as a morning work page or a fast finisher.
Pages 26-27: Thanksgiving Word Search. Students search for common Thanksgiving words. (Page 8 is the answer key.)
Page 28: Thanksgiving Words. Students see how many words they can find using the letters in the words “Happy Thanksgiving.” This can be a solo or partner activity.
Pages 29-31: Thanksgiving Bingo. Students create their own Bingo boards and then play Thanksgiving Bingo during a class party or game day.
Pages 32-48: Write Around the Room. The teacher posts the labeled pictures around the room before school starts. The students then take their writing paper (page 13) and do a little “treasure hunt” around the room to find all of the pictures and write the corresponding words on their papers.
Pages 49-50: Thanksgiving Dinner Bonus Activity. The students answer questions about what they like to eat for Thanksgiving. Then they color and cut out the foods and glue them onto the plate to make their own version of Thanksgiving dinner!
