Looking for a fun, flexible addition to your November music lessons?
These Thanksgiving key signature cards are perfect for playing games with your students. The cards go all the way around the circle of fifths, including minor keys. . Easy to cut out and quick to play, these game cards can be used in a variety of ways! I can think of at least three different game ideas to play with these cards...
Chord Review- Use with a grand staff (click here for a printable grand staff)
to review chord spellings. Draw a card and spell that chord as quickly as you can. The first one to draw the “C Major” card wins the game.
Key Signatures- Use a with a grand staff (click here for a printable grand staff)
to drill the amount of sharps and flats in each key signature. Draw a card and spell that key signature with your sharps and flats. The first one to draw the “C Major” card wins the game.
Scale Review- Place all the cards either in a stack or in a bag/box. Draw a card one at a time and follow the other player’s instructions, e.g. “Simon Says play the C Major scale staccato.” Play until you have used all the cards.
