This project will have your students thinking about everything they have to be thankful for. They will write a short poem and feature it on one of two "quilt" squares. The second square will be used for an illustration that coincides with the poem. Bright and colorful, when all the students' squares are put together...this makes for a heartwarming bulletin board!
This is a print and go project. No prep by you! It's easy to do in class or leave as sub plans.
Because I gave you two different options (rubric and exemplars), this will work well with any grade level. You will simply choose whichever is fitting for your group.
In this 12 page packet, you will receive:
1. 2 grading rubrics (One is more thorough while the other is more basic.)
2. 2 high exemplar models of student work to show your students. (I explain more about the importance of this in the teacher notes page.)
3. 1 blank quilt square (for your artistic students who have their own ideas about design)
4. 5 decorated quilt squares for your students to use for their poem and art piece.
5. Teacher Notes Page
I hope this works as well for you as it did for me!
