Thanksgiving Play The Conversion of Tactless Turkey
(Following text is same as for preview but I’ve added a different sample text at the end)
Reading Time: 5 – 10 minutes
This is a short script that can be read in the classroom or put on as a mini performance for Thanksgiving. It is about turning negative character traits into positive ones – in the case of our tactless turkey, into a more considerate individual. And breaks down the word THANKS into – T for Thanks, H for Help, A for Attitude, N for Neighbor and K for Kind.
It can be used as part of the Life Skills curriculum. For other scripts that cover such themes/issues as learning to get on with one another, the importance of saying thank you, self-esteem and being happy with being yourself go to the PSHE section of my website www.plays-r-ussell.com or drop me a line on firstname.lastname@example.org
This is a very short play – if you’d like me to write a longer one, do let me know! I offer a write on request service – just written a Nativity Play …with a difference! Called Welcome to Our Party. Lots of wacky animals – I’ll be adding it to TpT after this!
Narrator: (Sighing contentedly) Well. This really has turned into the happiest Thanksgiving! And that’s just how it should be. It is a time for giving
Grumpy Goose: And giving gladly, knowing how lucky we ourselves are!
Feisty Pheasant: We should never forget just how lucky we are
Clumsy Chicken: And never stop giving thanks for our good fortune
Daft Duck: Helping others less fortunate than ourselves
Tactless Turkey: And offering support whenever we can.
Narrator: So that just leaves us with one thing to say.
All cast: (Shouting) Thank you!
Narrator: For being such a great audience and don’t forget
All cast: (Holding out hands) The more you give in life
(Folding arms across chests and patting hearts) The more you receive!
Narrator: Thank you!
