This primary source small group ELA lesson incorporates common core ELA standards and social studies standards. It can be used for whole group or small group instruction. The primary source used in this lesson is from the New York Times letter to the editor published in 1911 that implores parents and citizens to refrain from giving to Thanksgiving “mummers”.
