Looking for a fun, creative, and innovative way to research Thanksgiving? Look no further! Your students will enjoy discovering more about the first Thanksgiving through this QR Code Scavenger Hunt!
You will enjoy watching your students match the "question" and "answer" QR codes that you have placed around the room. Technology will be at the forefront of your lesson with this one!
Included in this packet:
~7 QR Code Questions
~7 matching QR Code Answers
~Student Answer Sheet
~Answer Key for Teacher
For this activity, you will need to download a QR reader (e.g. NeoReader, i-nigma, QR Reader by TapMedia) onto a mobile device. In my classroom, we have used iPads and Chromebooks but you can also allow students to bring their own devices. **An internet connection is required.**
1. Prior to the lesson, arrange students into pairs or groups. Each group will need at least one device.
2. Print off the “Question QR Codes” and place them around the room/school (I like to place these ones on the desks, randomly).
3. Print off the “Answer QR Codes” and place them around the room/school (I like to place these ones on the walls in my room).
4. Print a copy of the “Student Answer Sheet” for each student or group.
Always have an activity ready for those early finishers. In my room, I have an "Early Bird" board where they can grab other activities to work on while others may be finishing up.
