Cut out the pictures on pages 3 and 4. Tape or glue them to a paper bag or container.
Print and cut the pictures on pages apart on pages 6-10. Have the students take turns picking a card, naming the word on it and putting it in the correct bag to answer who, what, what doing, when, where.
For additional comprehension of /wh/ question practice, you can have the students practice answering questions on the strips or use them to model asking questions. Cut apart in long strips and have the students take turns picking a strip to read aloud and answer the question or keep it as one full sheet the SLP uses to read aloud to the students. Answers to the questions are included so students can match the question to the answer if they need that extra help. The answers are included with and without an icon so if the student is struggling with a particular type of question, the student can match the icons on the question to the answer. As the student progresses with this skill, the answer can be found without the icon so you can see if the student can match without the visual cue. (Pages 11-30)
Score sheets are included (pg. 31) , as well as an open ended Thanksgiving themed board game (pg. 32). With this activity, you can use the board game as a motivator. If the student answers his/her question correctly, he/she can take a turn on the game board. Use a dice and game markers to take turns moving around the board. The first person to reach the finish line is the winner.
