Celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday while reinforcing important graphing and writing skills.
This resource includes:
– Students will use the shapes provided to create their own unique turkey. Just copy the shapes provided on either card stock or copy paper.
Turkey Graphing Activity
– Students will use their completed Shape Turkeys to complete a tally chart, bar graph and picture graph. I have included two versions of each so that you can choose the one that will work best for you students
Thanksgiving Turkey Opinion Writing
– Students will write from the point of view of their turkey, convincing everyone to not eat them for Thanksgiving dinner. Two different templates are provided so that you can choose the one that will work best for your students. The first just has the students write their 3 reasons in list form. The second has the students write a complete paragraph with an introductory sentence, 3 reasons, and a conclusion. A graphic organizer is provided. The final copy is written on a “Don’t Eat Me” sign that their turkey can hold. Just attach a strip of brown construction paper to make the sign and the finished product is perfect for a bulletin board.
