Teach the parts of a complete sentence with an element of fun using these Thanksgiving-dinner-themed grammar worksheets!
The first page contains cloze notes introducing the concept of subject and predicate and practice sentences for identifying these sentence parts. Students must also creatively fill in the missing subject or predicate.
Page two is the fun part. Students are given a large phrase bank filled with unsorted subjects and predicates, and they must write ten grammatically correct sentences by matching one subject to one predicate.
My kids LOVE this activity, since they get to make their sentences as silly as they want, and I always let them share with the class. Seeing your kids get excited about this Thanksgiving grammar lesson (and understand what subjects and predicates are) is sure to make you smile.
This is a perfect fall grammar activity for that short week before Thanksgiving, or anytime in November!
