Students use Microsoft Power Point and selected websites to collect and display information about the first Thanksgiving. They are able to study history while practicing saving documents, copy and paste functions, creating slides and arranging the data in chronological order and clicking a link from a PDF or word document.
I usually project the document for the students to see as I go over each step. To easily access the links and have the directions at the children's fingertips, I also open the document on each screen and minimize it until I have introduced the lesson.
For this lesson I help the children to print the document 6 slides to a page, then I have them cut out the work and tape them in a strip as a time line.
