The math problems included in this pack are 4th/5th grade level questions, most would also work for fourth grade, but you can add your own problems by typing them into the editable PowerPoint that is included.
This activity requires some set up, and detailed directions for set up are included, along with pictures of set up. If you have any questions about the set up, please send me an email at email@example.com and I am happy to help!
In order to get your class started, you will need to place envelopes around the school, stuff and place envelopes on your board, set expectations, copy recording page, and write the joke “Who never eats on Thanksgiving?” on the board. Students will eventually solve the answer to this joke as they work through the scavenger hunt. In order to start the hunt, give each group one of the clue envelopes from the board. Students will read that clue/riddle in order to go find their first feather. After students find and solve their first feather, they will grab their next riddle and the process will continue until all eight feathers are found. After 8 feathers are found, students will put them behind their turkey in the correct order that correctly solves the Thanksgiving joke.
