Take your students on a 1621 Virtual Field Trip. With the use of video clips from Scholastic, Plimouth Plantation, and the History Channel, students learn about where the story really begins with the Wampanoags, they are taken on a tour of the Mayflower, and visit home sites. They will learn about the daily lives of the Pilgrims, they Mayflower Compact. and who was on the Mayflower. The interactive field trip lets the children build a Wampanoag home site, write a classroom compact, visualize how crowded the Mayflower was, and decide what they would take on the voyage. It concludes with a digital writing activity and a classroom display of what they children have learned. Best of all, this Virtual Field Trip meets a variety of Common Core Standards and provides opportunities for cooperative learning and deep thinking discussion. Each slide is labeled with the Common Core Standards that can be met during that part of the virtual field trip. Happy Thanksgiving!
