Product Description
This fun Thanksgiving Unit is a collection of 9 stations plus several bonus activities that help students use and apply phonics skills in a Thanksgiving theme. This unit goes great with all your fabulous Thanksgiving stories!

This pack includes a student choice board with files and directions for accompanying station activities. All activities print PERFECTLY in black and white or color!

These stations are designed to be used for one week where students select one station per day or could also be used for two weeks in which all stations will be completed by the end of the two week period.

The open nature of the activities allows for differientiated levels to be met with your students while working on the same concept.

Station 1: I’m Thankful Book: Students draw a picture on each page and label something they are thankful for in their life. Challenge: Students will write sentences about the pictures they draw.

Station 2: Thanksgiving Memory: Students match the Thanksgiving pictures to the matching words. Teacher Note: Teachers may laminate and make a few games for students to share or each student could have their own game set.

Station 3: Word Search: Students will illustrate the pictures and find them in the word search, then write a sentence.

Station 4: Cook a Turkey: Students will write how to cook a turkey using simple words or phrases and illustrate. Challenge: Students will write detailed instructions for how to cook a turkey.

Station 5: “Turkey and Treats Race”. Students will roll a die, move a counter, and read sight words to collect turkey and treats. The first one to the plate wins!

Station 6: Stamp and Write: Students will stamp the beginning sounds then write the Thanksgiving themed words.

Station 7 Holiday Sort: Have students sort the pictures onto the correct side Thanksgiving or Not Thanksgiving. Have students label their pictures after they sort.

Station 8: Back to Back Game: Students sit back to back with a partner. They draw a card from the bag. They give clues to their partner to help them guess the Thanksgiving word on the card. Teacher may laminate and cut apart several copies of this game for students to share or each student could have their own set of words/pictures to take home.

Station 9: Make it, Paint it, Tear it! Students can use art materials, paint, or torn paper to make a turkey. Then students write a sentence(s) to tell about their creation.

CHALLENGE: Stations 1 and 4 have additional pages that use the same activity but with HIGHER skill levels needed to complete them.

FREEBIE:ABC Order: Students cut out the letter tiles and glue them onto their ”Turkey Time” board. You can also laminate the tiles and the “Turkey Time” board and reuse from year to year.
