Thanksgiving Turkey Creative Writing Activity. This writing resource is intended to help students understand the different parts of speech (verbs, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs, and nouns) in an enjoyable, meaningful way. The first activity has students working in groups to research and share with the class what they learned about a particular part of speech. The second activity is a creative writing activity where students are asked to pretend that they are a turkey and need to survive around the Thanksgiving holiday. Students are asked to design a turkey and then write about it. Their writing must include some examples of the different parts of speech. Even though this is geared toward the Thanksgiving holiday, the activity can be adapted for any part of the school year.
