Lesson Slides: These detailed slides give a narrative overview of each step for this writing project & craft. Each step is introduced in an entertaining way that engages students and emphasizes the meaning behind this heartfelt project.

Brainstorm Posters: Your students will participate in a gratitude brainstorm session to set the stage for their letter writing. These posters are the perfect way for your students to share their thinking and take a peek at the ideas of their peers. A poster for each of the following topics is included:

★ Something my family gives me that doesn’t cost money.

★ Something my family does to help me achieve my goals.

★ Something my family does to help me prepare for the future.

★ Something my family does to help me stay strong and healthy.

Stationery and Turkey Card Printables: After your class brainstorm session, students will be well prepared to write a sincere letter of thanks to their family. The variety of stationery options each include a side panel checklist to remind students of all their important parts of a letter. After those letters are signed, it’s time for a festive turkey craft. Printable turkey feathers and heads make prepping this project a breeze.

Turkey Card Craft Visual Tutorial Slides: These slides lay out every detail for creating an adorable turkey card (which can also be used as a Thanksgiving decoration). Photos and step-by-step instructions will make you a turkey card crafting sensation!

WHAT TEACHERS THINK OF THIS RESOURCE:

♥ "We write letters every Friday telling about our week, but these were TOTALLY different. The kids were very serious and wrote heartfelt notes of gratitude to their parents or other family members. The turkey "jacket" was icing on the cake. Thanks for a great parent gift and for making my kids think about giving thanks in more than simply, 'I am Thankful for...'" - Maegan D.

♥ "I love that kids are asked about intangibles. They wrote some lovely and heartfelt letters to their grownups." - Shayla S.

♥ "This was such a great way to get through the week before thanksgiving in a fun and meaningful way!" - Tracy M.
