Help your students express an attitude of gratitude this season!
This fun and simple activity combines a Language Arts mini-lesson and Thanksgiving-themed keepsake craft. The included lesson plan guides students through writing a brief but memorable note to someone for whom they are grateful.
After students complete their note, the illustrated instructions in the kit (in PDF form for easy viewing on Smart Boards and projection screens) clearly guide students through an easy process of assembling their pumpkin pie-shaped card with an outside message of “Life with you is sweet!” (or optional blank whipped-cream card topper).
Students will enjoy writing and creating their slices, while parents and family members treasure receiving these beautiful messages of gratitude!
This is a completely original lesson plan and activity; it can't be found anywhere else. My students and I LOVE creating these adorable pumpkin-pie shaped cards. I have used this activity when teaching 5th and 1st grades--the thorough lesson plans included make it easy to modify the writing, and assembly is simple. (Most years, the kids ask to make more than one card.)
