One of my favorite things in my classroom is the "That Was Awesome" container. I have done this the past three years with such great success! My students have loved it and laugh so hard on the last day of school. What a great way for them to leave my class remembering all the positive funny, and great times we shared!
I take an empty oatmeal container and cover it with construction paper. I then glue on the items from the second page of this file with other papers cut to frame the title and explanation box. Decorate it however you want it to look to match your room. I cut a slit in the top of the container and glue it onto the base (no peeking!) I print a bunch of the first page of this file, cut them, and put them near the container. It always surprises me how stuffed the container is on the last day of school. The kids love to write down funny things and when I read them I hear a bunch of, "Oh yeahs!" and "I remember that" comments. It's so fun! (Of course, you will probably have to pretend you don't see some that will embarrass students or are, um, you know... ;-)
Thank you for looking!
