What a great way to start the new year back at school. Have your students set some realistic goals and fill in these doodle notes as they build a five paragraph essay. The first page asks students to list possible goals and then narrow them down by coming up wth reasons why and how. They then eventually write a thesis based on those goals. The next sheet asks students to add details their hows and whys for each goal, divided up into the different body paragraph sections. Next, students write intro and conclusion ideas and this page includes reminders about what should and should not be included. The fourth page of notes gives the students room to write a rough draft and has reminders of specific words and phrases to avoid.
We come back for three days after break so we work on pages 1-2 the first day, 3-4 the second day, and the third day is for polishing the final copy.
The slides come in color and are editable.
