In a Common Core approach, the students are going to create an illustrated pamphlet by reading five of the “95 Theses” of Martin Luther, visually demonstrating their understanding, and concisely explaining why the Church’s actions angered him. Martin Luther was passionately defending Christianity even as he was vehemently attacking the actions of the Roman Catholic Church. The Reformation turned to the Bible as the ultimate evidence to challenge centuries of church practice, and opened the door to the myriad of Protestant sects that exist today.
