I love teaching the rock cycle! I hope this complete lesson will help you save time, and have so much fun! Just download, print and copy!

Lesson Includes:

The animated video of Captain Quartzite!

Bell Ringer/Warm-up activity (Engage)

Anchor Chart (Anchor) - There is a student anchor chart with blank spaces for your students to fill in while you project and teach from the Teacher anchor chart. I had my students fold their anchor charts in half, and glue them into their science journals for a reference guide throughout the unit.

Small group activity (Collaborate) - Students will put the puzzle of the rock cycle together. You can have them glue this puzzle to a piece of paper, or laminate them and use them again next year. There are also matching cards that students can use to review important vocabulary terms.

Discussion cards are included in the Collaborate Activity. These cards use higher level questions and vocabulary to help prepare your students for the standardized testing.

Individual activity (Harness): Students can read the colorful comic about Captain Quartzite, and then they can create their own comic (you can show the Captain Quartzite video after this, if you want).

Quiz (Success!)

All of the instructions/lesson plans are included.
All of the answer keys are included.

Happy Teaching!
