Showing movies to accompany literary units is a great way to reward students and also to show them that text doesn’t have to be written. There is a richness in film that students should be aware of.
This guide is designed to accompany the 1993 version of The Adventures of Huck Finn, starring Elijah Wood. The guide includes primarily simple observation/recall type questions to ensure students follow along and pay attention to the movie; however, there are some close viewing questions that require more critical thinking. Questions are in chronological order so that students can answer as they watch the action. Close viewing questions are in italics and require more student thought and insight into characters and events. Students will generally need more time to answer these types of questions.
THIS GUIDE IS NOT DESIGNED TO REPLACE A READING OF THE TEXT.
This guide has 55 questions and an answer key.
