Hey there! I'm Amanda and I’m the founder of the Adventurous Teaching Academy. As a teacher that loves social media AND professional development, I’ve seen a lot of trends fade in and out of classrooms over time. I started the Adventurous Teaching Academy for teachers who are focused on what’s most important in teaching: strong curriculum design and building relationships with students.

It’s easy to get distracted in the online teacher community: from Instagram to Pinterest, it can be easy to forget about the hard, not so picturesque parts of teaching. Too much of our teacher social media space is consumed with the silly stuff – inflatable pineapples from Target, cutesy crafty activities, and drool-worthy flexible seating furniture. While I absolutely think these social media platforms are great to showcase the fun parts of teaching, I wanted to create a space where teachers could challenge themselves to do the HARD part of teaching.

I’ve designed 12 monthly challenges for this upcoming school year. The challenges range from personal and pedagogical all the way to completely rethinking curriculum design. I’m excited you’re on this journey with me and I can’t wait to meet you!
