Product Description

European ships first reached the ports of Africa and Asia in the 15th Century. As a result, western nations were able to establish highly profitable trade outposts, and then colonial occupation forces, to maintain control over these distant lands.

But what are the lasting effects of this colonization? How did centuries of European bureaucracy, brutality and exploitation impact the traditional societies that once existed in Africa and Asia? Were there any benefits that came about through this system of dominance?

This Fill-in-the-Blanks (F.I.B.s) worksheet is designed to test students' reading research, comprehension and analytical skills, as well as their understanding of how imperialism's changed the world.

Perfect as an in-class activity or take-home Internet activity.
