Reading Through History

What educators are saying

Great recourse that gets my students more opportunities to do document based questions while also helping them annotate their readings. Highly recommend!

This is a six-part unit from Reading Through History that documents the presidency of Andrew Jackson. Each lesson contains a two-page reading followed by three pages of student activities which include guided reading activities, multiple choice questions, a student response essay, vocabulary activities, and a series of student summary statements. There is enough material to cover six 35 to 45-minute blocks of class.

Topics in this download include:

-The Election of 1828
-The Peggy Eaton Scandal
-The Kitchen Cabinet
-The Spoils System
-The Nullification Crisis
-The Indian Removal Act
-The Trail of Tears
-Jackson's War on the Second Bank of the United States
-Andrew Jackson's Legacy
-And much more!
