A PowerPoint file containing five presentations for an AP European History unit titled “The Age of Religious Wars."
The PowerPoint file is 44 slides in length. It includes five individual lessons, which in my classroom provides for nine days of instruction:
13.1 Catholic Reform and the Counter-Reformation - 1 day
13.2 The French Wars of Religion - 1.5 days
13.3 Spain and the Dutch Revolt - 1.5 day
13.4 The Elizabethan Age - 3 days
13.5 The Thirty-Years War - 2 days
Also included in this download is a 6-page set of visuals and activities to accompany the five lessons. In my classroom, students take Cornell style notes on the right side in their interactive notebooks; their corresponding visuals pages are glued on the left. These activities are completed before (vocabulary), during (visual labeling), and after (writing, thinking maps, etc.) completion of the presentation.
If you would like to download a full-preview for free of one of my units, in order to get an idea of the types of things you might find in them, please do a search on TpT for my unit, titled “The Birth of Democracy.”
*There are references throughout the presentations to DVD clips I show during some of my presentations. These clips cannot, of course, be included with your download. Below is a list of the DVDs that I use:
- The History Channel: Christianity - The Second 1000 Years
- Elizabeth (1998)
- Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007)
- HBO: Elizabeth I

Thank you for downloading my lessons! Your feedback is always welcome.
