Product Description
This full packet includes 33 artists (such as Rembrandt, Monet, and Van Gogh), 58 paintings, a brief artist biography and picture, a wide spectrum of art from the following art movements (along with a condensed description of each movement): renaissance, baroque, romanticism, realism, impressionism, post-impressionism, expressionism, cubism, surrealism, abstract, pop, contemporary, Edo, and Victorian. It also includes art from a variety of countries including: Italy, France, England, Japan, USA, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, and Norway.

Some lessons have a wider age range and others are for a more specific age group, but are easily altered to fit your needs.

Each lesson includes artwork and questions (along with answers) which cause the student to look closely at the painting. Also included are suggested activities for further learning that relate to the painting, a small introduction to the artist, and the art period and/or movement identified.

Claude Monet said, “Everyone discusses my art and pretends to understand, as if it were necessary to understand, when it is simply necessary to love.”

This is the concept for which this art APPRECIATION lesson was modeled. The questions encourage the student to look closely at the painting’s detail and enjoy its beauty. The student learns without even realizing it.

If older children need a challenge, a game can be played by letting them first take a close look at the picture, and then asking the questions in the lesson while the picture is covered up. Some children may enjoy seeing how much they can remember about the painting’s details.

Some of the pictures are landscape and the text is portrait. If you print one of these, select "Auto portrait/landscape" under the orientation menu of the print screen so the orientation will automatically print correctly.
