Product Description
This lesson includes artwork and questions (along with answers) which cause the student to look closely at the painting. Also included are suggested activities for further learning that relate to the painting, a small introduction to the artist, and the art period and/or movement identified.

Claude Monet said, “Everyone discusses my art and pretends to understand, as if it were necessary to understand, when it is simply necessary to love.”

This is the concept for which this art APPRECIATION lesson was modeled. The questions encourage the student to look closely at the painting’s detail and enjoy its beauty. The student learns without even realizing it.

If older children need a challenge, a game can be played by letting them first take a close look at the picture, and then asking the questions in the lesson while the picture is covered up. Some children may enjoy seeing how much they can remember about the painting’s details.
